Saji Astro Park is the leading open-air astronomical observatory in Japan. A reflecting telescope with an aperture of 103 cm, planetarium programs to introduce constellations. In the daytime, star observation / sun observation with a reflecting telescope, a starry sky / astronomical observation at night time and stars & space exhibitions are also available.
This place is also equipped with a lodging facilities for overnight studies. “Hoshi no Cottages (Cottages of the stars)” furnished with telescopes are popular, too.
Tottori prefecture is now on a special promotion, called “Catch The Star prefecture” and the beautiful starry sky on a clear night in Saji is worthy for that.

Saji Astro Park is in the great nature where there are few human lights so that milky way and other stars can be most clearly seen, which makes the starry sky and the universe more familiar.

For those who want to observe starry sky without worrying about time, we recommend staying at cottages with a telescope.
There are 4 cottages for lodging with a telescope, bathroom, toilet, fully equipped kitchen.
You can observe the starry sky to your heart’s content.
Pension Cosmos no Yakata surrounded by rich nature, you can enjoy star watching and relaxing stay with organic Japanese cuisine and barbecue dinner.
“Pension Cosmos no Yakata” is in Saji Astro Park.
There are Western / Japanese style rooms for 2 to 7 people, a restaurant type barbecue house.
Spend your relaxing time in a relaxing space with listening comfortable music. Feel the transitions of the four seasons where time flows slowly.
